Senior InRule consulting, direct
Rule application development, reviews, migrations, documentation and testing, from an EU-based team that has worked with InRule for more than twelve years. You work directly with the people doing the work.
Geny Systems is a Bucharest software company. Alongside our own AI products, we work for organisations that run InRule in production: insurers, banks and lenders, healthcare organisations and public agencies.
Every engagement is led by Marian Drumea, who has delivered business rules solutions for fourteen years, more than twelve of them with InRule. He works with Geny's engineers in Bucharest, so you get senior judgment where it matters and a team for the volume.
What we do
Rule application development
New rule applications, and changes to the ones you have: entities, rule sets, decision tables, calculations, validations, vocabulary. Built in irAuthor and through the InRule SDK, tested before they ship.
Rule application reviews
A one-week review of your rule application portfolio: complexity, test coverage, risky logic, performance, dead rules and documentation gaps, with a prioritised list of what to fix first.
Version upgrades and Decision Services
Release 5.9.0 retired the classic irServer Rule Execution Service. We move rule execution to Decision Services, and upgrade rule applications and integrations to current InRule versions, with a regression baseline before and after.
Documentation of inherited rule applications
Plain-English documentation of every rule set, decision maps, dependencies, a field and value glossary, and a change-impact matrix, for rule applications whose authors have moved on.
Regression test suites
Test suites that capture what your rule applications decide today, so every change and every upgrade is checked before it reaches production. You keep the suite and the harness.
Ongoing rule changes
A monthly retainer for rule authoring, changes and testing, with an agreed response time, for teams without an InRule specialist in house.
Training
On-site or remote training for rule authors and developers, from first rule application to SDK integration.
Custom tools and extensions
InRule is built to be extended. We build the pieces your teams are missing:
irAuthor extensions: panels, ribbon commands, checks and helpers inside the authoring tool your authors already use.
SDK tooling: generators, validators, bulk changes, reports and analysis across many rule applications at once.
Integrations: calling rules from your applications and services, REST endpoints, data mapping, and integration with the systems around your decisions.
Testing and documentation tooling: test generation, test runners in your CI pipeline, documentation produced from the rule applications themselves.
Where it helps, we use AI-assisted tooling to produce documentation and test suites faster, always reviewed by us and run on your side.

To InRule: from other rule engines (IBM ODM / ILOG, FICO Blaze Advisor, Drools), from rules hard-coded in applications or stored procedures, and from spreadsheets. We extract the logic, rebuild it as rule applications, and prove the result against the old system with the same test cases.
From InRule: to DMN models running in Drools or Camunda, or to plain C#, when your architecture is moving that way. Same method in reverse: the existing rule applications are the specification, and both sides run the same tests before anything switches over.
Between InRule versions and hosting models: irServer to Decision Services, on-premises to Azure, and catalog consolidation.
How we work
A 20-minute call. You describe the rule applications and the problem; we tell you what we would do first.
A fixed-price proposal within two working days, or by the hour if the scope is open.
Delivery in your environment. We work on your InRule licence, in your environment or virtual desktop, under your security rules and an NDA.
Handover. Everything we build is yours: rule applications, test suites, documentation, tools.

Why Geny
Seniority on every engagement. The person who scopes the work is the person accountable for it.
Direct rates. No reseller or agency layer. Our rates are set in Romania, for clients in Europe, North America and Australia. Bucharest is within a few hours of most European and US East Coast working days.
You own the result. Rule applications, tests, documentation and custom tools stay with you.
Beyond InRule. We also build AI products and work with DMN, Drools, Camunda and .NET, so the advice covers what surrounds your rules, not only the rules.
